Five Minute Speech Sample (FMSS)

The FMSS was developed as a brief measure of a relative’s emotional attitude (Expressed Emotion, EE) towards another family member.

Camberwell Family Interview (CFI)

The CFI is used to assess the emotional climate of the family by assessing individual relative’s attitudes of criticism and emotional overinvolvement.

Affective Style (AS)

Affective Style is a measure of the affective behaviors families display when interacting with their patient-relative.

Coping Style (CS)

Coping Style assesses the manner in which patients interact with relatives.

Communication Deviance (CD)

Communication deviance is scored from the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) in order to assess the quality of communication expressed by family members of an ill relative.

Family Therapist Questionnaire (FTQ)

The FTQ evaluates therapists’ experience when conducting Behavioral Family Management.

 

Family Behavior Index (FBI)

The Family Behavior Index is a coding system developed to assess nonverbal and paralinguistic behaviors exhibited by relatives of patients during videotaped family interactions.

 

Behavioral Subclinical Rating System (BSRS)

A measure of patients nonverbal, paralinguistic subclinical psychopathology when interacting with family members.
